Dear Prayer & Financial Supporters, 9/15/04
We trust by all means that you are found in good physical and Spiritual health. III Jn Vrs 2 We have been very busy this summer with doctoring my Ulcer and our many Tent Meetings. Our twelve night tent meeting in Winterset OH went well. God saved a teenage girl during the meeting. Praise the Lord for that. We averaged 73 each night during the twelve nights. Understand, though this is our sixteenth year in this annual meeting we set the tent out on this farm 10 miles from town. We spend $2,700.000 in this meeting. We took in $1,200.00 shy of paying the bills for this meeting. God spoke to someone's heart and they wrote a check for the $1,500.00. Praise the Lord. The one soul that got saved was worth every cent that was spent. Two weeks ago we took the tent to N. Bergin NJ. We had just enough room to get our tent up. This city is on the Hudson river across from New York City. The folk in the church were from four or five nationalities. It was a good week there with people getting some help and some getting assurance of their salvation. A side trip to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island was a blessing. We got to pass out tracts over there and talk to folk that need the Lord. September 13th thru the 17th we have our tent up two miles from the church out on US 36. This is our third year here, however the man just sold the property and this might be the last year to put the tent up on these grounds. This will be our last tent revival of the 2004. The tent is very dirty and we are going to put it up again in the church lot and wash it down. This is our fifth season with the tent. God is good to let us minister with the old gospel tent. Our motor home needs some work but we are praying God enable us to pay it off. Our monthly payment is $600.00. To sell it we would have to put money into it and we could never get the $ 28,00.00 out of it that we owe. We still use it in our ministry. We bought it ten years ago this November. Hard to believe ten years have passed. We have lost more mission support since we landed here to try and salvage and rebuild this church. One church said we had more folk than they had! Some supporters just quit sending financial support without a Dear John letter. Some stopped their help because I am spending time here trying to rebuild this church. This has always been my ministry to help the local church. Unfortunately the growth here (and thank God for growth) hasn't translated into enough money to pay a full time pastor. Oh well...Judy and I work for the Lord not people. We just don't understand some thinking. We are more busy in His work than ever! Please pray for our health, our mission support, and our faithfulness. Judy and I have now been in the ministry together for 28 years. Twenty seven years ago we started our first church. Seems like yesterday. Praise His Holy Name for the opportunity to serve him. Luke 1:74
